Send her to gramma's house... far away from that nasty, tempting bowl!!!
Oh... gramma has one too:)!!!
She'll figure it out when she gets tired of getting wet and being told no... kinda fun for her right now though:) You are doing a wonderful job of parenting... a little water on the floor for a while, not that big of a deal ... next thing you know you'll be bringing her to preschool.

Just move the bowl so your child can't get to it. Being to strick with your child will just harm your bond with your child. Kids need to explore and make mistakes it's part of being a kid.

Hello,

In reference to the "dog bowl incident": Simply teach her not to splash in the water. No matter how long it takes. It may take a week for her to "get it". CONSISTENCY is key and it can get frustrating, but the payoff is enormous. She'll know you mean business. So, maybe (if you are saying no) instead of saying no, no, no, or moving the dog bowl, just firmly say "it is NOT OKAY to splash in (your dog's name) water. You are making a mess and the dog won't have any water to drink if you spill it on the floor" and then maybe right away divert her attention to something else. My parenting style is to never let them start doing something you don't want to continue (nip all bad behavior in the bud) and don't rearrange everything to suit their whims. They should rearrange their behavior to suit YOU. Did I mention that keeping consistent can get frustrating? HA....Anyway, For me, saying "it is not okay to...." instead of "no" just seemed to get carry more weight. Your words are taken more seriously than just them hearing "NO" all the time. They need to hear that it is not okay and WHY. These are just my thoughts. As parents we all have to do some trial and error to find what works best. I hope this info helps a little.

Thanks,
Kelly, mother of Tyler, age 7

I'm afraid that until the clear understanding of the word NO happens, the only safe option is to pick up or remove all things dangerous or valuable. The positive side of this is she's sooo cute even getting into trouble!
